ABDUL VAS "SIR STOP ABORTION vs. SIR THUNDERSTRUCK", 2005

Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation CIFO
1018 North Miami AvenueMiami, FL 33136Estados Unidos

It's time for the 3rd Annual International Kids Fund American Art Auction. Last year's event was a stunning success thanks to the generosity of the many top galleries and outstanding, talented artists donating works. And thanks to the spontaneous, open-hearted giving of our patrons, supporters and all those who participated in last year's auction. The outstanding consequence of this success is that the lives of many IKF kids were saved or dramatically improved.
Now, in our third year, the International Kids Fund Latin American Art Auction 2007 promises to reaffirm itself as one of the most important, high profile charity art events in the region. We've established the precedent for presenting an extraordinary selection of fine artworks donated by prestigious, contemporary artists from throughout Latin America. Already, outstanding pieces of art are flowing in from artists and galleries for this year's auction.
Proceeds from our auction are designated to pay for critical surgeries, life-saving medical treatments and essential follow up care for children in the IKF program. These are children in need. The care they need is simply not available to them in their native countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. IKF is their lifeline, and we need your support if we are to meet the challenge.

BIO

ABDUL VAS 1980
is a classically schooled painter with a remarkably timid character. He primarily creates many of his works on large format paper with a few vivid lines. He works figuratively, the themes in his work inspired by daily life, such as the long words he encounters is fascinated by. These themes form their own symbolic language. Abdul Vas is a child of this time, a citizen of the world with a strong connection to the things around him; he uses whatever he comes across: AC/DC, BASEBALL, CHICKENS (his best friends, especially one called Sir Barry), or writing and the Dutch language, but his South American background remains an unmistakable influence.
